Forest Restoration

Trees for Kenya supports reforestation projects primarily focused on restoring natural ecosystems, enhancing biodiversity, promoting sustainable land use, and improving local livelihoods. One key initiative involving Trees for Kenya is a reforestation project in the Mount Kenya region, carried out in partnership with different organization. This project aims to restore degraded forests within Mount Kenya National Park and support agroforestry systems in surrounding tea and coffee farming communities. It also includes educational efforts in local schools to raise awareness about the importance of trees and conservation among younger generations. The reforestation activities contribute to climate change mitigation, water cycle restoration, soil quality improvement, and socio-economic development through resources and income for communities.
