Trees for Kenya supports farm forestry primarily through promoting agroforestry systems that integrate trees onto smallholder farms to improve soil health, productivity, and livelihoods. Since 2012, they have been working with farmers across Kenya to help transition degraded crop lands to agroforestry by planting a diversity of shade, fruit-bearing, and medicinal trees. This approach improves climate resilience, diversifies income, enhances crop yields, and enriches soil structure and fertility. Trees for Kenya also provides training, access to quality seedlings, and ongoing support to sustain and expand these agroforestry practices.
