Protection of Catchment Areas

Local communities, which live along the water ways, are key stakeholders in sustainable solutions for the protection of vital natural resources. With their importance in mind; we not only help them to celebrate their water line as community assets, but we also create an asset-based approach to environmental conservation and human well-being.  Our initiatives engage the local community through the planting of trees along waterlines to prevent land erosion and siltation. Communities are taught water catchment techniques while protecting waterline areas. As we use initiatives which discourage communities from cultivating along the waterlines, we also encourage the planting of grasses along the waterlines to clean and purify the water. We recognize local communities as key players in the fight to better plan management techniques for water natural resource protection.
